Next festival Pitstop: God’s Own Music Festival

After Go:Madras, NH7 weekender and (soon to take place) Ragasthan, its time for God’s Own Music Festival (GOMF). Slated to be one of Kerala’s first dance music festival, GOMF will showcase some of the best upcoming talent from the electronic scene in India. Special performances include Avial guitartist Baiju Dharmajan and Dj Savyo. The festival is being organised by the Events Entertainment People in association with The Times of India.

Many would be visiting this festival to see Avial guitarist Baiju Dharmajan in action. Apart from his noteworthy contribution to Avial, he is soon to release his debut album. Other acts include Praveen Achary, Vinayak^a, a long time electronic experimental electronic project and progressive house projects Jinxxa and Inferno (submerge). The line up however is nothing to write home about. The festival is to take place on 2nd and 3rd February 2012 at Bolgatty Palace, Kochi mainly focused on local and regional electronic talent from the country. Primarily an EDM event, it seems this event is more focused on presenting a festival than an event with performance from the top aritsts of the industry. This probably marks a new age in the Indian Music Festival history reflecting the scene has grown so much that it is now possible to hold music events without having performances from international artists.

An innovative and affordable ticket pricing structure has been incorporated for this festival viz.,

Prior to this festival would be Sunburn 2012, the mega music festival that takes place in goa (27th, 28th, 29th December). More information on this soon. As two months still remain for God’s Own Music Festival, one anticipates more delight would be added to this music fiesta. Visit their facebook page for ticket reservation and more info.
