Formed at a time when Metal was just another natural mineral used to make utensils and related stuff, Dying Embrace are considered the Godfather’s of Indian Metal. With over 20 years of experience and having contributed a lot in shaping the underground scene in Bangalore, the God’s are set to perform a special 50 minute set during Doom Over Bangalore on the 22nd of June. Here are a few facts you probably didn’t know about them:
- Formed as Misanthrope, changed to Dying Embrace in 1996
- The band didn’t get a single gig from 1991-1995 as nobody wanted a Death Metal band to play at their gig.
- The band didn’t have a Bass player until 1994 when Jai “Sarge” Kumar joined
- Deepak Prasad was the vocalist until 1994,Vikram joined in 1995
- Guitar player Jimmy Palkhivala & ex drummer Daniel Marc David founded the band in 1991
- The band disbanded in 2001 after drummer Daniel Marc David and bassist Jai “Sarge” Kumar had to move out of Bangalore on work related reasons
- Dying Embrace came back in 2011 after 10 years with new drummer Deepak Raghu
After waiting for a year and half after reforming, Pritham Denzil D’souza was a perfect fit into the band making the Mark II line up complete.
