Finally! The Indian music scene has reached a spot where the bands haven’t just developed a fan base in the country but are also widely followed by people around the world. Year by year, the number of bands performing outside of India has only increased and the stages on which they have performed are massive. So let’s check out the martyrs lined up to perform at some of the most recognized fests around the world:
Hailing from Mumbai, Zygnema, who delivered an epic show last year in the Wacken Open Air, are all set to thrash up the crowd at Inferno Metal Festival being held in Oslo, Norway. With a new bassist, Leon Quadros, on their line-up, Zygnema will be flying tonight to play at the John Dee stage on March 28th, 2013 at 7.15 pm. If you are around Olso, then do check them out!
The first names of Europe’s first ever outdoor technical metal festival, Tech-Fest 2013, have been revealed and it was not a shock to see the Chris-Adler-prescribed and one of the country’s most desired, Skyharbor. The brainchild of the maverick, Keshav Dhar’s high profile bedroom project turned into an internationally touring band after their splendid release, ‘Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos’ last year. Now they are set to play the role of second headliner before Veil Of Maya on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Other bands on the list are Scar Symmetry, Tesseract, Monuments, Sybreed, Xerath, etc.
The one band we witnessed a lot in India last year is the supporting specialist, Inner Sanctum. After opening for the likes of Slayer, Metallica, Vildhjarta and Cradle Of Filth, Inner Sanctum is all set to play at not one but two festivals abroad. The first one is the eleventh edition of Chronic Moshers Open Air featuring Destruction, Vader, Dew Scented, Macbeth and many others. The three-day festival is going to be held in Germany on the month of June, from 7th to 9th. The other even bigger and gigantic, Metal Fest, is also a three-day fest happening from 20th June 2013 to 22nd June 2013 and will feature some awesome bands like Accept, Volbeat, Down, Sodom, Destruction, Satyricon, Entombed, Hatebreed, Veil Of Maya, etc. Inner Sactum is surely going to have a nice one this summer!
And the last one to go international is the biggest and one of the most experienced in the industry is the Bangalore based Old School Death Metal band, Kryptos. After releasing their third studio album last year via the German label, AFM Records, 2013 is going to be huge for them as they celebrate their 15 years of thrashing with a month-long European tour, titled as Coils Around Europe, 2013. The tour includes an appearance in the great Wacken Open Air Festival. Following is the incomplete list of shows they would perform in:
6th July 2013: In-Flammen Open Air, Germany
13th July 2013: Open Air festival, Germany (TBC)
27th July 2013: Ragnarock Open Air, Germany
