Finally the dates for most awaited band contest in India are here! The 17th edition of Strawberry Fields, the annual music festival of the National Law School, Bangalore, is scheduled to be held from November 8, 2013 to November 10, 2013. The three day event will feature over fifty bands coming in from all over the country battling it out to get themselves established in the scene. The festival is perfect for bands to get recognized and for music lovers to experience the best music for free from morning to evening for three consecutive days. The event will also feature a Special Act and a Headliner on the third day after the finalists perform, whose names will be declared later.
The registrations for the competition start on September 19, 2013 and closes on September 22, 2013 (yes, just four days). There is no express selection procedure for the bands willing to participate. Registrations are based purely on a first-come, first-serve basis. College bands have an option of registering under the category of ‘College band’. Both the categories will be judged together, with the only difference being that college bands will be eligible for the ‘Best College Band’ prize.
The registration takes place over two steps:
Step 1: Bands should register through www.strawberryfields.in between the dates September 19 and September 22, 2013. The first list will be put up and the bands will be notified regarding the payment formalities.
Step 2: Once the band has made the first list of participating bands, they will receive a confirmation call and an email would be dropped with the details of the payment. The band will have to pay a nominal fee of ₹ 750 by cash or by demand draft. The registration will be complete once the payment is received. Strawberry Fields is a great opportunity for the up and coming bands to grow and take it to a whole new level. As we know from the past Strawberry Fields has been a Launchpad for many Indian bands in the past seventeen years like Thermal and a Quarter, Motherjane, Junkyard Groove, Bhayanak Maut, Kryptos, Slain, Myndsnare, Pin Drop Violence, Demonic Resurrection, Galeej Gurus, etc. and hopefully will continue to be so. Hence, it is one golden chance for your band to perform in front of the masses and get noticed. So do not miss it!
