The Lightyears Explode and Punk On Toast host Rainy Punk Galore which is a version of the D.I.Y. punk rock gigs organized by CT Records. This gig is happening on 15th August to mark the Independence Day relative to the punk rock fraternity @ 3 Wise Monkeys in Khar, Mumbai.
The Lightyears Explode are a vibrant bunch of punks who believe in using the melody of music to convey their messages. Catch riff’s, upbeat vocals and power packed bass and drum combo somewhat defines this Modern Punk Rock Band. The band comprises of Saurabh, Benjamin and Aaron and all their fans that follow them around.
Punk On Toast is an aggressive anti-social act with crunchy guitars, screechy vocals and fast drum and bass kind of sound. They have a take on all the right political issues and make mockery of the same through their songs like “Democracy is a fucking lie!”, “For Hire” and “Satyagraha is Gay!”. A promising power packed performance from this angsty band whether live or on CD. Aditya, Yogesh, Suyog and Prathamesh make up this power quadrant.
CT Records has a events leg – Punk Smells Good Live! and has done 3 shows under this label so far. No sponsorship, independent, DIY ethics are highly displayed by the label while organizing gigs like Punk Rock Explosion, Disenfranchised In India Launch Gigs in Mumbai, Delhi, Shillong. This one appears no different and promises to be a low-fi entertaining event packed with a great punk rock music.
