The EP has 3 songs and an intro; which the band may have created as the band intro music, to be played as they take stage. The recording quality is fair enough, with a few glitches at times. Here is an in-depth song-wise analysis, in no particular order as such:
The EP officially starts off with Breathe, if I follow the order of the song placement on their Reverbnation Page. I expected it to be a continuation of the Intro track; which had a nice techno influence to it. But as it turned out, I was wrong. Breathe is a very nicely composed track, pretty nice drumming and guitaring throughout. I loved the keys in this song specially, would have loved if it was a little high on the final mix. Another thing, the cymbal hits in the beginning of the song were disrupting the guitar riffs, a little error in terms of mixing there.
Curse of Anomie, the second song in the list; has some progressive touch with metal core. In my opinion, this is the best song in the EP. Everything the band tried to do in the song was executed to perfection. Be it the Psychedelic patch with clean guitars or the breakdowns and especially the drumming; it has been excellent throughout the EP and this song is no exception. At times the song gives you this eerie feeling, something that can send chills down your spine.
The Warrior features Jared Sandhy on backing vocals. He’s the man behind mastering and mixing the EP. The song starts off with a nice clean guitar intro along with some nice bass lines. But don’t let the calm intro get you, later on you will be greeted by some insane machine gun riffs and some really nice overlaid clean vocals and growls. The outro though didn’t impress me much.
As I mentioned before, the recording quality is pretty fair. The instruments were clearly distinguishable, but at times there were some glitches; like the intro of Breathe, where the cymbals from the drums were getting in the way of the guitars. The growls have great intensity, matched perfectly with the music; which is very important for a song. I felt the bass and the keys needed a little more space in the final mix. The bass should be kept a little high so that it can fill up the gap between the drums and the guitars.
Very good work done by the band and Jared in both the production and composition of the tracks, hoping to hear more from them soon.
