Mark your calendars Bangaloreans! Come the 22nd of June and Bangalore will experience a one of a kind gig. Marking the official release of Motorhead India – Tribute album and the official pre-party of the most awaited gig of the year – Bangalore Open Air 2013; Doom Over Bangalore presents you six head crushing, throat slitting, mind numbing bands. A six hour hard hitting Metal fest promising a neck pain so brutal that running a steam roller over your neck would feel comfortable. Hosting the gig will be Bevar Sea and Dying Embrace – the two house bands; and joining them on stage would be Mortar, Dhwesha, Witchgoat and Kryptos. Here is a little info on the bands to get you kicked:
Mortar – Hailing from Kolkata, better known as the City of Joy, they would be joyfully thrashing your eardrums with their music. The 5th band from Kolkata to perform in the Metal capital of India in just about a span of about 6 months; Mortar will be playing their first gig in Bangalore. Being featured in the Motorhead Tribute – India album, they promise to treat everyone with some neck breaking, in-your-face Thrash. Dhwesha – Bangalore’s own Old School Euro Death Metal outfit is back to sweep the ground beneath your feet. Dhwesha has impressed one and all with their performances at various gigs, and be sure to expect some brutality from these guys during Doom Over Bangalore. Witchgoat – Worshipping the elder gods of Black-Death-Thrash Metal, Witchgoat is a 5 piece supergroup. Formed in 2011, the band played their first gig in Chennai and swept them away like a grade 5 hurricane. Tired of reading serious interviews? Bevar Sea – The first host band of Doom Over Bangalore. Having released their debut album this year, the band is set to play their first gig of 2013. Doom Over Bangalore will feature both Bevar Sea and Dying Embrace, playing hosts to some awesome crazy bands. Rumour has it that they have a few kickass covers in store for the show. Dying Embrace – The lords of Indian underground Metal, Dying Embrace have been around since a time when many of us couldn’t even add single digit numbers. Having a cult following in India as well as abroad, the Gods of Indian Metal will bring Doom to the heart of Bangalore with their set. Kryptos – One of the longest surviving bands in the Indian circuit, Kryptos have been the torch bearers of Indian Metal in the world. The veterans would be closing the inaugural Doom Over Bangalore in style. Also, Doom Over Bangalore would be their farewell gig, they pack their bags and head off to Europe on the 4th of July and will be playing in the Mecca of Metal – Wacken Open Air this year!
