Metal music in India has picked up momentum with a host of releases, festivals and new bands. We, Eight Octaves are leaving no stone unturned to provide complete coverage of the music scene in the country especially when it comes to Metal. This December 15, Bangalore (Manpho Convention Grounds, Next to Manyata Tech Park) would be host to the Indian Metal Festival. Sweet Leaves with the help of Orka Networks is organizing this metal fest (the same guys behind Poets of the Fall tour).The event is also supported by MTV. Though many good metal bands are missing from the lineup, Six International acts to play at this conference of Everything Metal. French Technical Death, Thrash and Progressive Metal band Gojira would be making their debut performance in the country through this festival. UK based Bloodshot Dawn (Melodic Death Metal), Xerath (Progressive/Symphonic Death Metal), Flayed Disciple (Thrash Metal), and Inner Guilt from Lebannon are some of other international acts expected to play at this festival. Among the local acts, Eccentric Pendulum, Escher’s Knot, Gutslit and Agnostic are scheduled to bring on a day of Heavy Metal Mayhem.

Agnostic: Guwahati based Death Metal Band with influences from bands like Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Necrophagist and Death. The released an album called Morbid Embracement recently.
Escher’s Knot: Chennai based Metal band since 2009. A conglomerate of various bands viz., IIIrd Sovereign, Theorized, Ston’d and Blood&Iron
Bloodshot Dawn: Melodic Death Metal/Thrash Metal band from Hampshire. Josh McMorran – Vocals/Lead Guitar, Benjamin Ellis – Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals, Doug Anderson – Drums/Vocals, Anthony Ridout – Bass are the band members. “Coalition of Terror”, a two track EP and ‘Slave To The Lie” EP are their two releases so far.
InnerGuilt: Lebannon based Thrash Metal band. InnerGuilt earlier TristMoon, released their first full length album “The Dungeon” in 2010.
Cerebral Bore: Cerebral Bore is a British death metal band from Glasgow, Scotland. They are known to present Death Metal Brutality with melody and technical skills.
Xerath: Extreme Death Metal band from UK. They made their debut release “I” in 2009 via Candlelight records. Their music can be characterized as a Mix of polyrhythmic guitar riffing and drumming, with orchestral and symphonic elements.
Eccentric Pendulum: Back from gigging at Wacken Open Air festival (Germany) and SWR festival (Portugal), Eccentric Pendulum is one of the premier metal bands of the country. From the responses of their facebook page and last.fm page the festival promises to be a massive gathering / headbanding session/ moshpit for metalheads to bask in from across the country.
