Multi award winning Nu Metal Pioneers Korn have cancelled their gig in Mumbai which was to be held otherwise on 7th September 2012. ‘Heavy Rains’ has been the reason given by Mooz Entertainment the organizers.
In an official statement released by Mooz Entertainment on their Facebook page, they have promised to issue refunds to all ticket-holders with an option to exchange their ‘general admission’ Mumbai tickets for ‘premium’ or ‘platinum’ tickets to the Bangalore show on September 9, at no extra cost. Ticket-holders are also set to receive a complimentary Korn ‘Path of Totality’ tee shirt.
Korn Fans in Mumbai are extremely disgruntled with this news. The reason of ‘Audience Safety’ has left many dumbfounded. Considering September being traditionally a rainy season, a lack of preparation for the same seems hard to believe. Goddess Gagged, who were to open for them at the Mumbai Gig posted: “So after months of preparation and hard work we’ve been putting into making our show with Korn amazing, we find out that its canceled two days before the show. Sorry to everyone who was excited to us and them together, we are more disappointed about this than you can imagine”.
This is another nail in the coffin for International Acts to take place in India. The state government policies, event organization mismanagement have left the Mumbai audiences deprived of witnessing any of their favorite International Acts Live. With bands such as Slayer, Slash skipping the city from their Tour Schedule International gigs in Mumbai seem a distant future. Hope the activist groups which were behind straightening Dhoble policing would also work on these issues. The California-based band rocked Gurgaon on 5th September to a 5000 plus crowd. The fans were given the chance to witness the best of Korn with the bands performing tracks such as Get up, Falling away from me, Freak on the leash, Blind and Narcissistic cannibal. The rest of the Korn Tour is on schedule unless otherwise.
Korn will play at Bangalore on 9th September, 2012.
