Megadeth is Back in India

THE GODS ARE BACK

Post Rock in India 2008, Thrash fans have found themselves low due to concert deprivation. But come October and Bacardi brings the absentee Gods of Thrash back with the Bacardi NH7 Weekender where Megadeth will take the stage again.

Featuring songs from the bands’ new album TH1RT3EN which has founding member David Ellefson teaming up on base after a decade, the tour has the band quite kicked returning to a country where thrash is religion and Megadeth has its pictured enclosed in an incensed mantle. Drummer Shawn Drover seems most taken by Indian culture, heard saying, “It’s not every day that I arrive to play a show and there are dancers and elephants waiting to greet you!!!”

After the exemplary response to Imogen Heap at NH7 Weekender 2011, Only Much Louder is throwing down taking the 2012 edition to three cities: Pune , Noida and Bengaluru. And the grandeur doesn’t end there. A set-up of six stages will be found in each city with the addition of ‘The Fully Fantastic Stage’ featuring up-and-coming bands and popular favourites. Along with this are the amazing, pass holding pre-parties tallying a whopping 60 this year.

And not to worry, all thought has not gone into promotion and set-up. The line-up is a carefully thought out combination of powers from across the globe and country including Indus Creed, Pentagram, Parikrama, Alien Chutney and Anoushka Shankar.

Tickets are up for grabs on Bookmyshow.com and cost between Rs. 1499 and Rs. 3000. The organisers remembered the ‘pack’ mentality of metal-heads so have created offer packages for combined days as well as people. Also, there are special prices for those under 21.
