MobiSur – The Mobile & Internet based Talent-Hunt

The first mobile and internet-based talent-hunt for singers, ‘MOBisur’, has been launched. MOBisur allows participation from any part of the country where one can connect through their mobile phones or the internet. The winners (male & female) will receive prize money of Rs. 5, 00,000 and an opportunity to record an album with Shankar Mahadevan. It is an attempt to bring about the amalgamation of Mobile technology, the Internet and Sur. “It gives us immense pleasure to be able to bring new talent to the industry. We are looking forward to releasing an album composed by Shankar Mahadevan for the winner of the hunt,” said Bhushan Kumar, MD T-Series, the official music partner for the talent hunt.

“The thought was to give every Indian an opportunity to participate in a unique contest to try and reach the pinnacle of musical genius. This is first of its kind initiative and opens new doors to a diverse mix of talent across India. By using digital media to leverage the talent in the country, MOBisur has set a new benchmark for talent hunts,” Shankar Mahadevan said in a statement.

Participants can dial 546465 from their mobile phone and record their entry. One can also playback their recording before submitting it. Participants are recommended to record their song in a quiet place to not lose out in the registration process. Alternatively, participants can register at www.mobi-sur.com and upload a video of their song. Visit www.mobi-sur.com to know the talent-hunt rules, terms and conditions. This would be the first of the preliminary rounds of selection and the short-listed participants would battle it out amongst each other with live performances on the big stage. The main sponsors would also be choosing 5,000 female entrees from its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/itcvivel, where people can also view and vote for their friends’ entries.
