Motherjane’s year takes a turn for the positive. After the unfortunate fleeing of their band-mates, the Kochi based rockers are now embarking on a trip to Europe. The band will showcase their old hits as well as a few new numbers across 5 Ukrainian cities.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations are funding this tour and it will be the bands first venture into European waters. Though this is not the band’s first international gig, it has set off a trend among the band members. “There will be many firsts on the tour,” says founder/ drummer John Thomas. And there will with all the folk influences being brought into the bands line-up thanks to vocalist Vivek Thomas and lead guitarist Santosh Chandran.
The bands performance history includes Dubai and Jakarta but the European market is a whole new ball game. One that could open doors for the band. Performing at major cities in Ukraine like Simforopol and Odessa, the band is sure to land a few sweet deals.
The band began performing a few days ago and has been having a good time with the Ukrainian crowd. Band Manager Nithin Vijayanath is on the road ensuring everything goes smoothly, keeping Motherjane fans posted on the where’s, the how’s and the what next’s.
