With the power of Music, the organization has been able to do much for various causes across the world. From opening 8 schools in Africa to creating employment to supporting a program in Nepal for children. Go to the website to see their widespread activities. Playing a Change day is an offshoot of this same movement, which comes alive with the support of many musicians, event organizers, sponsors, etc. In 2011, PFC Day had 225 amazing events in 4 countries.
The event itself was a blast. The turnout at the event was tipping around 250 people with the audience age ranging from 18 to 45 years. The 40 foot auditorium of the venue provided an excellent ambience for the show. All the acts got a good response despite each act being quite different from the other. Rachel Varghese fascinated the audience with her mesmerising voice with rhythm-lead guitar ensemble by Yohann Marshall & Samir Karnik. The trio provided a number of originals written by Rachel herself as well as some covers. Vivek Rajagopalan presented his Electronic Multi Instrumental World music project. Adi Mistry accompanied him on Bass and Finix on Violin. Vivienne Pocha brought some disco funk into the night with fantastic band to back her equally fantastic voice. Vivienne’s uptempo stage performance pulled the audience into frenzy. The night ended with the Vivienne Pocha announcing the launch of her new album. Proceeds from this event will go towards Playing for Change Foundation.
