The guitar legend who has had us all grooving for years to the Spanish rhythm is now all set to perform live in our very own country. The ‘Maria Maria’ man is here in October to set the stage on fire. As a closing act to the Rock ‘N’ India tour organized by DNA Networks, he will be performing all the regular tunes along with a few new tunes to pull the crowd in at Bangalore city. He will also be performing songs from his latest album Shape Shifter, released this year, the first under his new Label, Starfaith Records. The album features 13 instrumental sets including tracks from the 1990’s to now. The opening weekend which will happen on Oct 20th, will witness Thrash Metal Band, Slayer headlining.
What is interesting however Is that Asha Bhonsle is rumored to be planning a performance with the Mexican guitar sensation. A huge fan of Santana after being introduced to his music by her now late husband R.D. Burman, Ashaji is quite thrilled at the possibility of a performance that could happen when Santana reaches India.
A winner of 10 Grammy’s and one of the world’s best guitarist as stated by Rolling Stone Magazine, Santana coming to India will pull in quite a variety of fans under one roof. The main reason for this is the fact that Santana is known for his evolving sound, something that appeals to a larger set of masses, old and young. Before ‘World Music’ became a thing, Santana was reinterpreting his sound to incorporate influences from the farthest corners of the globe.
