The Whirling Kalapas, known for their neo-folk, alt-country, mellow-and often funky-acoustic rock music, is all set to perform for the first time in Pune at Swig this Wednesday. The trio, Mahesh Tinaikar, Uday Benegal and multi-instrumentalist Sankarshan Kini promise to take the audience on a musical journey through their vocally and instrumentally lush sounds. The trio, who are believed to be a rich addition to India’s current wave of alternative music forms, especially for audiences looking beyond the volume- driven sounds of rock and electronic acts populating the Indie scene, promise to treat the audience to the best of acoustic sound at Swig this Wednesday.
