When we think of music many images come to minds: bands head-banging in unison as they bring the roof down, a single woman sitting on a stool with a guitar, a young girl playing the sitar or a choir singing together in costume. Whatever be your go to image, they all have one thing in common. The presence of a woman. Whether it be a source of inspiration or the singer to an all-boy band, women play an effervescent role in making modern day music tick.
And music is all about love. And as a woman, you must love yourself. Thus music is all about loving yourself.
This Women’s day, Eight Octaves is paying tribute to women of music. From singers to guitarist, we spoke to them on their lives so far and what it means to be a woman of music in this day and age. Stay tuned to the Eight Octaves Page to discover each of these lovely women and their journey into becoming the rhythmic divas they are today. From Ridhii Paul to The Vinyl Records, March is the month of the Woman. Power to the X Chromosome.
